movement from the inside out
HI, I’m Nat
I'm a Yoga teacher and Somatic Movement Educator based in West Norfolk (relocating nearer Norwich in 2027).
I’ve been practising and teaching Yoga for over 20 years, and Somatics has profoundly changed the way I understand movement - and the way I teach it.
My own journey has taken me from years of strong, dynamic Yoga towards a more curious, exploratory approach: one that values strength and mobility, but also sensation, adaptability, rest and the ability to listen to what your body is telling you.
Today I bring together Yoga, Hanna Somatics, developmental movement and other somatic approaches to help people develop a more aware and responsive relationship with their bodies.
TWO WAYS TO PRACTISE WITH ME
YOGA
Strength, mobility, breath and movement - explored from the inside.
My Embodied Movement Yoga classes bring a somatic lens to the physical practice of yoga.
We explore the building blocks of movement, develop strength and mobility, and work with balance, coordination and breath - while paying attention to how things actually feel rather than chasing a particular shape.
SOMATICS
SLOWING DOWN. LISTENING IN. EXPLORING FROM WITHIN
Somatics is a practice of movement and stillness that develops sensory awareness and helps us explore habitual patterns of tension and movement.
My group Somatics classes offer space to slow down, rest and reconnect with sensation. My 1:1 work is more individualised and therapeutic, drawing primarily on Hanna Somatic Education alongside other somatic and yoga-informed approaches.
Who We Are
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
TWO PRACTICES, ONE PHILOSOPHY
Yoga gives us opportunities to explore strength, mobility, balance, breath and movement. Somatics gives us time to slow down, listen and develop our sensitivity to what is happening within.
Many of my students practise both. Each can deepen the other.
a different way of moving
What if movement wasn't primarily about getting your body into the right shape, but about learning to understand your own body?

hi, i’m nat
I’m a Yoga Teacher and Somatic Movement Educator based in West Norfolk. I teach weekly Embodied Movement Yoga classes in Castle Acre, as well as Somatics group classes in Great Dunham, and one-to-one Somatics sessions from my garden studio in West Acre.
I’m passionate about helping people experience the simple pleasure of embodied movement - rediscovering the body’s innate intelligence, strength and fluidity through a playful practice that promotes stability, ease, lightness and integration. In my classes, I invite you to slow down, tune into your breath, and sense and feel your body from the inside out. Most importantly, I encourage you to listen to your body and mind - your soma - with an attentive, kind and self-compassionate attitude.
“Soma: the body as perceived from within”
what is somatics?
‘Soma’ is the ancient Greek word for the ‘living body’ (as distinct from simply ‘body’). We can think of the Soma as the body infused with consciousness or awareness. Thomas Hanna (founder of the movement system, Somatics) defined it as ‘the body as perceived from within’.
Somatics and Somatic Yoga is movement (and stillness) experienced from the inside. Although Yoga is an inherently somatic practice, many forms of physical yoga practiced in the West today have come to focus on external form - in how a pose looks from the outside, rather than how it feels from the inside. In a Somatic yoga or movement class, the teacher guides you, often through a series of questions, to sense and feel your direct, moment-to-moment first person internal experience. It is a practice based on curiosity and playfulness rather than striving to achieve something.
With practice, we develop sensitivity to ever more subtle experiences, ranging from physical to emotional and psychological. We start to appreciate that the body has a wisdom and a language of its own, which is often drowned out by the thinking, analytical mind. These practices hone our ability to truly listen to the language of the body, with compassion and open-mindedness.
